We moved

Way back when it was still warm outside, we moved a few miles away from our previous house.  I sometimes wish it were a more drastic move to, say, Syria or something, but we aren't those types of folks, I reckon.

We closed on our new-to-us house on September 30.  One of our rooms was green.  It was the former owners' nursery, and it looked really cute with the black crib and matching bedding. But it didn't really go with my mismatched furniture so we had that room painted when we had the two pink rooms painted.  (Did I mention they had three daughters?)

Here is a picture of the room before it was painted, and a couple others of it now with the variety of creams and whites, and the old furniture given to us when we married that we just never replaced.

Oh, it took 3 coats of paint to get rid of the green.

That is a mirror on the bed. I need to take it back to the store as it's not what I wanted.

A "smallish" move or a drastic one; a move is a move :)

I liked the green room but I would say it is very hard to fall asleep in it (or even concentrate!)

Happy post-moving!

My brother liked the green room, too. It was really cute how the previous owners had it, but just didn't match any furniture I owned! :)

What kind of a world we live in where furniture "changing" to suit a cute/cool room is a hard choice :D

Enjoy the new home :)

Haha! I know! Well, it was cheaper to paint than to get new furniture. Plus, I really don't like bright pink and green rooms!

Thanks for your comments. :)

I remember seeing few posts about your move on Facebook. Congratulations on your new house. I don't think you need to move away from where you live now. The pictures you post from your area are stunning. Especially, the sea side.
My dream city has to be near the coast :)

I wish I lived closer to the coast, although I am glad it's not too far away.

Thanks for your comment. I have enjoyed your photos and thoughts from Jordan. :)

I definitely prefer the way that you've done the room now, but I have to say that the green walls that the other owner's had is very interesting. The walls in my cousin's house are all white except for this one wall in the living room that's like a dark mint green. Not the entire living room. Just one wall.

Congrats on the move! I hope it wasn't too stressful. And I like the new color of the room better. It makes the gorgeous hardwood floor really stand out.

Thank you, Tina! That's interesting about the one mint green wall. I've seen people do one wall in a bold color before, but not dark mint green. Do you like it? :)

Sarah, thank you!

It's oddly comforting. It's not a harsh green so it doesn't clash with the rest of the house. I'm not sure if my cousin painted that wall or if the previous owner's had it that way and she just left it alone. Either way, I kind of like it. :)

Pretty! Bold colors like that look cool but I found out when I moved here I do not like them so much in bedrooms. Mine is dark teal in a room and house that doesn't get much light, what were they thinking!? It looks like that green would probably be similar, I like the way you fixed it much better!
