How do YOU view God?

Someone posted this earlier today on Facebook. It shows four ways Americans view God and how this view of God shapes the way they see issues such as homosexuality.

Even if you aren't an American, check this out if you want. How do YOU view God?

Through a really big telescope? *drum sting* ;)

I don't know, I read the article but I didn't take the 'quiz' so I don't know where I fall in that spectrum. If we're just going off of the question of homosexuality I believe that people are born that way. So if they're born 'programmed' to desire members of their own sex then that must be a part of God's design. Why? Who knows. I don't actually even care why. It just is. It's a fact of life and discriminating against people based on an inborn trait is wrong and evil. I'm not sure what that says about my view on God. I do believe that He's authoritative, but clearly I think that the pieces of the Bible that speak against homosexuality didn't come from God. I believe that He's benevolent - if He wasn't then He wouldn't be a god worth worshiping. He wouldn't offer us grace or the chance to redeem ourselves and we'd all be damned. Critical? I have only negative connotations to that and it's certainly not a word I would ever choose to describe God, and 'distant'? Not so much. He is a personal God. While I don't roll with the whole, 'Christ is my bff!' point of view it is a relationship and you can't have one of those with someone who is distant.

I love how you said all that, Amber, including viewing God through a big telescope! Ha, ha! :-D Really loved all that. I also view God as a mix between the two you mentioned. Thanks for sharing your POV!
