Africa

"It says everything about this land to know that even the mountains are not to be trusted, and that the crunching sound under your camel's hooves is usually human bones, hidden and revealed as the wind pleases." (pg. 20)

Susa,

Are you aware of the Dafur stove project?

http://darfurstoves.org/

These stoves use about 25% of the wood a traditional stove would use, greatly reducing the amount of wood a woman would have to gather and therefore reduce the amount of time she's exposed to danger. All for the bargin basement price of $30.

Miss all of you and hopeto havetime to catch up soon. Thought I'd pop in here to see what's up in your life. I see it's the fluffy topic of genocide and rape ...

JLNL, wow, no, I didn't know about that. Thanks for the link. I'm glad to know about those stoves. Yeah, fluffy topics indeed. :)

Been missing you lately. I hope you are doing OK. I miss all the stories about your wonderful kids. Don't be a stranger. :)

Okay, that's a cool quote. :) You know me, put skulls and bodies in something, and I'm all over it!

Amber, then you should visit the Sahara! :-)

Yeah, I liked that quote a lot. It was the final sentences in his page and a half about the desert. I was amazed.
