The cold weather went so far south that the fountain froze |

After a nice warm up mid -January which in my book, SAVED January. Meaning by that, of course, that it was so, so nice to enjoy time outside in the usual bleakest of the winter months. By contrast, February was quite cold. Thank goodness it's a short month, right? We found ourselves with free time (since Andrew's work is quite seasonal) and bitterly cold temperatures (single digit lows) so we looked South. More south than we are already, and found that the Savannah area of Georgia was chilly, but not as chilly as home. Plus, it was warming up to rather nice temperatures so we decided to go!
We stayed on Tybee Island just a short walk from the beach. What a great time! I will share pictures from Tybee another time, but for now, here are a few pictures from Savannah and our Sunday visit to Fort Pulaski which is very close to Tybee.
