Damascus -- A Convent in Maaloula

After going through the downtown area of Maaloula, we eventually made our way to this convent in the mountains.

Someone told us they rent out these upstairs rooms to passing travelers


We met P. Toufic Eid, B.S., Superieur as his business card reads. He had been to Boston not long before we met him. He said it was a good sign to see Americans in Syria, and he was very welcoming. Many people encouraged us to come back and bring our families.
