Damascus -- Krac des Chevaliers

Except for a few random shots, this post should end most of our day at Krac des Chevaliers. (See April posts beginning with this one.) It took about 2 hours to get there from Damascus, and I guess we stayed looking around for 2 or 3 hours. Abu Muhammad drove one of the hostel vehicles for us.

Joy from Scotland and her boyfriend, Steve from England, joined us on our adventure. Joy is studying Arabic in Damascus as part of her French and Arabic majors. The previous year she had lived in France. Steve was visiting Joy for a few days and they stayed at the hostel where we were.

There were lots of neat places to take pictures.

It was fun walking along the wall and taking pictures from far away.

Andrew was trying to keep Samer and me moving at the faster pace that Joy and Steve were setting. So he was kind of in the middle of the two groups. Occasionally I'd get him to stop for pictures, but if not . . .

I'd have Samer pose!
